I LOVE YOU, OVER AND OVER AGAIN
Video projection on screen of glitter, 1 minute loop, 2005.

I Love You… was created from a short clip of a film scene where River Phoenix professes his love for his girlfriend. His face and head were isolated and turned on their sides, so it looks as though he is lying down. The clip was slowed down and woven back and forth into an endless loop, suspending him in a state of what might be pain, or ecstasy.

This was created as a companion piece to Outrun; both act as interventions into an enclosed fictional world that construct and express, in equally fictional terms, something that has actually happened — the absence of a person being felt, the act of dying being watched.
